ISLAND 2 ISLAND is an exhibition presenting contemporary works by British, Sardinian and International artists. The desire is to explore communalities and differences between the two islands, expressed by multiple artistic mediums as well as generate links for future research, business opportunities and creative relationships. This inaugural project hopes to bring together contemporary artists with an interest or link between the two islands of Sardinia and Great Britain in order to build a dialogue and exchange of ideas via the visual arts. The diversity of artworks presented shows how artistic practices have no boundaries and can coexist and develop in a harmonious way regardless of the geographical isolation and physical distance of the two countries. Equally, communalities of subjects and environmental similarities stimulate a fresher research approach in a process of ethnographic identification founded on the deep cultural heritage brought in by each artist.
